Alcohol & Drugs
Although alcohol is often seen as a more socially acceptable drug because of its availability, it is still a
very powerful drug. A drug is something that alters or exaggerates your mood. There are side effects to
all drug use. It is against the law for anyone under 18 to buy alcohol in a pub, off-licence or supermarket.
As well as affecting your health, alcohol lowers inhibitions and increases risk-taking behaviour, including
sexual activity.
